⁣In 1989, teenage Lisa Swallows is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of her mother, who was killed by an axe murderer two years earlier. Her father Dale has since remarried a woman named Janet, who also has a daughter from a previous marriage, Taffy. Lisa spends much of her time at a local cemetery.
Lisa heads to a party with Taffy, who encourages her to socialise. She has an awkward encounter with Michael, her crush, and is accidentally drugged by one of his friends. She is later sexually harassed by her lab partner Doug. Lisa returns to the cemetery and speaks to the grave of a young man who died in 1837; a pianist who had fallen in love with a woman in his own time before she left him for another man, and was later killed by a lightning strike. A bolt of lightning strikes his grave after Lisa leaves, and the man is brought back to life as a zombie.
The man (referred to as “The Creature” in the film’s credits) breaks into the house. Lisa is initially terrified, but eventually recognizes him as the man whose grave she dotes on, and decides to hide him in her closet. The Creature is mute, covered in debris, and missing multiple body parts.
Lisa claims that a burglar broke in to explain the mess made by the Creature, but Janet claims she is making it up for attention. When she threatens to send Lisa to an asylum, the Creature kills Janet and cuts off her ear before the two dump Janet's body in the cemetery. Lisa sews Janet's ear onto the Creature, but discovers that the parts will not work without a current. They use Taffy's tanning bed to revive the ear, which also restores the Creature to a more human appearance. Lisa then lures Doug to the cemetery so that she can cut off his hand for the Creature. The Creature kills Doug and hides his body with Janet's. Once again able to play the piano, the Creature starts to bond with Lisa.

⁣Nakul Sachdeva (Harshvardhan Rane) and Savitri Sachdeva (Savi, Divya Khosla Kumar) are an Indian couple living in Liverpool with their son Adi (Mairaj Kakkar). They lead a happy and peaceful life, with Savi being a housewife, while Nakul works as a construction worker. Nakul has a bad relation with his boss Stephanie Fowler (Jane Horn) who is a racist and often humiliates him due to his Indian background.
One day in the morning, when Nakul is about to leave for work, police raid their house with an arrest warrant for him. They accuse him of murdering his boss Stephanie, which Nakul denies. Nakul is arrested and later found guilty by the court and sentenced for life despite pleading not guilty. Savi believes he is innocent.
The evidence against Nakul is strong: his fingerprint is found on the murder weapon at the crime scene (a fire extinguisher), and Stephanie's blood is found on his clothes. Stephanie had also humiliated Nakul again the day she was murdered. Nakul narrates a different story: he was just passing by the crime scene when he bumped into an unknown man, whom he believes to be the real murderer. The blood of Stephanie was all over the murderer's clothes and the bump left a few drops on Nakul's coat. He then saw the fire extinguisher on the road so he picked it up to place it back, leaving his fingerprint on it. Nakul also claims he remembers he heard a clothes button falling on the ground when the two bumped into each other, so if the button can be found, his narrative shall be proved. However, no evidence that supports his claim was found, including the button.

⁣In 1963 at Ambajipeta, Kishtayya, an orphan, befriends Anji and his mother, who welcome him into their family. As Anji and Kishtayya develop a sibling-like bond, Anji's mother passes away, and her creditor Varadaraju asks the kids to repay the loan by selling their house to him. Varadaraju's attempts are thwarted by Peddayya, the village's local government leader, who offers to repay their loan. This forges a sense of loyalty in Kishtayya towards Peddayya. Meanwhile, Anji tries to persuade Kishtayya to confess his love to Varadaraju's daughter, Varamahalakshmi "Varalu". Kishtayya, however, fails to do so when he saves Peddayya, who is injured in an accident on the same day when he planned to propose to Varalu. As a group of people run towards Peddayya to kill him, Kishtayya picks up Peddayya's revolver and shoots them to save the latter's life. Since then, Peddayya considered both Kishtayya and Anji as his own men and is affectionate towards them, which angers his children.
